Ipoh's Seng Kee Nyonya Curry Mee.

This is one curry mee every curry lover must try. I have inroduced many people and friends and so far all their comments was great. I could go on saying how great this one is but if you don't try it , you will never know how much you have missed.
The proprietor, Mr. Khoo Kam Keong, 42 years, was very obliging when I told him I wanted to feature his curries in my blog. He has been operating the stall for over two and a half years.

The name of the Restaurant is Tim Shun Loong and is located diagonally opposite the Yee Chan Supermarket. If you were to travel along Jalan Kampar, just when you reached the old Maxis Telecommunication office, turn left down the road and it is located on the left just about 200 metres from the turning. You can't miss it.

Oh, before I forget, he opens everyday from 4 p.m. till 11 p.m. The restaurant closes on Thursdays and Fridays fortnightly.

Curry Mee Extraordinaire in Kuala Sepetang!

This is one curry mee that all curry lovers must try. It is located in Kuala Sepetang , formerly known as Port Weld. I actually found this lovely curry mee by accident. Many years ago, while travelling to Taiping using the old trunk road I was rather curious as to where this road that says K. Sepetang leads to. So, we decided to take a turn left instead of right to Taiping. When we reached there , we were rather taken by surprised as to why this little stall at the bend was busy with people. The sight looks good and we soon found ourselves indulging in the most unsual taste of curry mee that is out of this world.

The proprietor, Mr. Teh Beng Eng , 48 , told me that has been operating the stall for about 20 years now. He opens from 3p.m to about 10 p.m and closes on Mon and Tues.

How to get there?

Just drive right through the town and just before the bend on the left, you will see the stall on the right. You can't miss it. Even if you do miss it ask any folks there and they will be able to tell you the location.

Famous Shark Porridge in Matang!

Hi Guys,
Here I am back with another tantalizing dish that will surely tickle your palate! This Restaurant in Matang serves great Shark Porridge .You can add shark liver, ikan bawal, lala or shell fish to your liking. As a side dish to compliment your meal , order their Fried Oyster( Ore Chien) and I can assure you your trip to Matang would not be your last.
How to get there? Take a drive from the North/South Expressway and exit to the old trunk road to Taiping. As you come to the traffic lights, you will see a road sign to Kuala Sepetang. Take this road and before long you will see Matang on your left. Drive approximately 1.1 kilometer and you should see the Light House Sea Food Restaurant on your right. You can't miss it.

Famous Penang Prawn Mee in Ipoh.

Hi Guys, I promised to post more blogs in future last year and I must say I failed terribly. I kept putting things off and before I realised it, another year is going to pass by and nothing's cropped up.

Well, I have been patronising this shop at No:30 & 32 Cowan Street named Kedai Minuman dan Makanan Hua Nam for many years now and last week while I was there , I suddenly have the urge to talk to the guy who operates this Hokkien Prawn Mee noodles with his wife. I told him that I wanted post this in my blog and to my surprise, he said yes, why not? So, needless to say, I went there armed with my camera and took a friend as well. I ordered the special prawn noodles with 3 large prawns and that is the one you see in the pics. When I finished my meal, I waved to the boss and said I need some details. No wonder his Hokkien Mee tastes so much like Penang. He is actually from Penang and he has been selling Hokkien Mee for the last 26 years.
Imagine, a bowl of piping hot HPM with 3 large prawns for only RM4.30. A normal bowl costs only Rm3.30.
Mr. Hong Say Leong is 64 years and his wife Ong Ah Wan manages the stall everyday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Apart from HPM, he also sells Hokkien Law Mee where the gravy is thick and is a favourite among Penangnites. So guys, for those of you in other states, make it a point to try Mr. Hong's HPM if ever you are in Ipoh or just passing by. Just remember to mention you saw it in my blog. That would boost him up a bit.
Ok, gtg. I will be presenting another 'Hot, hot mesti cuba' Curry Mee in town.
Ciao!

Let Music Be The Food Of Love, Play On!

I remember the title very clearly in my mind but unfortunately I forgot who wrote it. Maybe , someone out there who happens to read my blog knows who? Anyway, music indeed is the food of love. Music is universal. It soothes the gentle beast in us. Many a time I witnessed even the mechanic who attends to my car whistles while he's busy changing spark plugs and tuning engines. Now, that shows a very happy and contented man.
We can lie about our age but we cannot lie if we are not happy. It shows! How can one sing and whistles when one is not in a happy and joyous mood. Even if we want to , we simply cannot do it.
Doctors now believe music can be used as a form of therapy. I , for one will attest to the fact that music does make my day. Many times when I hear a familiar tune on the radio or television, I will be immediately taken back to the times when events took place in my life. It could be a happy or sad occasion but it did bring back a lot of fond memories .
I have met many interesting people through music and I must say my life is evolved around music. Because of the love of music, we formed a band last year and played to our heart's content every week. We certainly looked forward to our jam sessions!
